Either way, both are great ways to communicate with others. I like the way they both have the option of setting up groups to communicate with.

You Tube
I had fun searching around on YouTube. I started by searching for videos related to PE. I refined my search to PE and found many more videos on the topic. I got some great teaching ideas from some videos.
I think You Tube can be a very successful tool in the classroom when used the right way. I can use exercise videos in an aerobics unit, and I can use videos of other games to show the students how to play.
Delicious
I spent lots of time on the delicious site. The bookmarks were fun to read. I can see where you can get new ideas to find information. I like the way postings etc are categorized. The tags help find information quicker.
I looked for education sites under the education tags. I found many different sites. I looked up sites for a variety of information.
I do see how a social bookmarking site would help in research. Delicious is a useful site and social bookmarking.

Social Technology
Three of the articles I read this week about technology were interesting. I found that two of the three articles were completely supportive of the use of Internet communication site. They each give tools that allow users to express themselves and interact with others in different ways. Students use technologies, such as Facebook and Flicker, to communicate with groups/classmates and instructors. A group, such as online schools, offers opportunities for social feedback and supports social networks.
The sites, such as Facebook, are all built around the idea of connecting people and making it possible to interact. The Internet provides a variety of options of communication sites as mentioned in the article, “Social Networking.”
The third article, “Examining Social Software in Teacher Education,” mentioned a main drawback to communicating online is that some sites are not safe, such as, “My Space,” where individual websites are available to anyone, however, Facebook requires invitations by the web owner.
About me
My name is Bonnie Thomasson. I live in Windsor,
California, with my family: Eric, my husband, Darren, my
10-year-old son, and Caitlyn, my 13-year-old daughter.
This is my 21st year teaching. I started out teaching Kindergarten (1 year), then sixth grade (5 years) self-contained, third grade (6 years), fifth/sixth grade (6 years) PE, and currently sixth and seventh grade PE/Health. I have implemented fun and interactive activities for the junior high students to engage in to master the learning of the specific standards presented.
I am also the Athletic Director for the Junior High where I work. I coach the Cross-country team, only because I wanted to start a team this year.
There is not another job I would rather have than the ones I have now in my life. I have worked diligently to get to where I am now, and plan to be the best that I can be at what I am doing. I have made positive improvements to the Physical Education program, as well as, the athletic department at my junior high.
